Skills Development Providers
All the courses/learning programmes that lead to the registration of persons to practise in the pharmacy profession must be accredited/approved by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). The following qualifications are accredited/approved by SAPC:
- National Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance
- Further Education Training Certificate: Pharmacist Assistance
- Pharmacist’s Assistant (Basic) part qualification of Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician (Info coming soon)
- Pharmacist’s Assistant (Post-Basic) part qualification of Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician (Info coming soon)
- Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician
Skills Development Providers (SDPs) who require accreditation/approval to offer the Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician programme must complete the Accreditation/monitoring visit instrument and submit same to the SAPC.
SDPs that require accreditation/approval to offer the Occupational Certificate: Pharmacy Technician programme must comply with the relevant provisions of Good Education Standards (GPE) as set by Council.
